Description:
Helping professionals frequently encounter people who are having thoughts of suicide or who have engaged in a suicide attempt.  As service coordinators, it is important to know how to recognize suicide risk factors and warning signs, as well as how to intervene with a person who is having thoughts of suicide. This presentation will provide basic information on intervening with a suicidal person and will provide resources to which suicidal persons can be connected.

• Recognize suicide risk factors and warning signs
• Understand the importance of asking directly and explicitly about suicide
• Explore the available resources for persons thinking about suicide
