4th Annual Hereditary Cancer Symposium for Health Care Providers is organized by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and will be held from Apr 16 - 17, 2021.

Accreditation:
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this live internet course for a maximum of 12.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, of which all have been designated in the area of medical ethics and/or professional responsibility. Physicians and APPs should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing:
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this course will award 9.16 Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) credit.

Genetic Counselor Credits:
NSGC Category 1 CEU credit will be available for genetic counselors.

Overview:
The goal of this symposium is to provide health care professionals with knowledge and skills resulting in the ability to improve patient care.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
• Implement guidelines to assess and screen high-risk patients in daily practice.
• Recognize and document key features associated with potential hereditary cancer predisposition and adequately to refer at risk patients for cancer assessment.
• Recognize and implement surgical interventions, screening protocols, and systemic therapies appropriate for specific hereditary cancer predisposition syndrome/genes.
• Recognize impact of genetic testing results on the patient, psychosocially and medically for current and long-term management.
• Identify a genetic counseling service delivery model that fits their clinical practice and implement a referral strategy.
• Differentiate the utility of various genetic testing modalities commonly used related to oncology risk and care.
