PCH 12th Annual Childhood Obesity Symposium 2026 is organized by University of Arizona College of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME), Phoenix Children's Hospital and will be held on Sep 18, 2026 at Phoenix Children's Hospital Conference Center, Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America.

Description:
The symposium offers physicians, researchers, and educators an opportunity to learn from experts in the area of pediatric obesity and obesity-associated conditions. The goal is to bring stakeholders together and encourage collaboration, generate new ideas, and enhance their knowledge base in order to improve the health and lives of children and families affected by obesity and at high risk of developing chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and fatty liver to name a few.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Prevent Type 2 Diabetes by applying new knowledge related to the current state of childhood obesity.
  • Apply new knowledge related to genetic forms of obesity.
  • Counsel patients and families on new knowledge related to the role the gut microbiome in the development of childhood obesity.
  • Utilize pharmacologic treatments for genetic or familial dyslipidemias, as appropriate.
