Monochorionic Twins: Diagnosis, Prognosis, Perinatal Management and Long-term Outcome is organized by Kosmas Srl (Kosmas Events) and will be held from Apr 10 - 11, 2025 at Florence, Firenze, Italy.
Description:
Monochorionic (MC) twins are connected by vascular anastomoses within the single shared placenta and may develop complications such as twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTS), twin anemia polycythemia sequence (TAPS), selective intrauterine growth restriction (sFGR) and twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence (TRAP). All these complications carry a high risk of fetal morbidity and mortality if not timely diagnosed and/or not appropriately managed.
The purpose of this course is to summarize the current evidence on optimal management for each specific type of MC twin complications in a structured and clear manner. We will provide participants essential tips and tricks to reach the correct diagnosis, explain the challenges of the different treatment options and highlight the short and long-term outcomes which can be used to counsel parents appropriately.
International speakers with specific expertise in MC twins will share their knowledge in a stimulating Florentine ambience and lay out handy tools which you can directly put into practice once back in your clinics.
