Nicola Persico graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2002 at the University of Bologna, and in 2007 he specialized at the same university. In 2011 he obtained a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynecology Sciences at the University of Parma. From 2006 to 2010 he was at King's College Hospital in London for a Research and Clinical Fellowship in Fetal Medicine and Surgery that allowed him to acquire specific theoretical and practical skills in prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of fetal anomalies, invasive prenatal diagnosis procedures (chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, fetal blood sampling) and fetal and placental surgery techniques. Since 2010, he has been part of the Obstetrics team at the Policlinico and is the contact person for the Fetal Medicine and Surgery Service. Since April 2023, he has been the Director of Prenatal Diagnosis and Fetal Surgery
