Advances in Breast Cancer: Updates from International Medical Meetings is organized by UC San Diego School of Medicine, Continuing Medical Education and will be held on Oct 19, 2024 at The Alexandria at Torrey Pines, San Diego, California, United States of America.
Overview:
This educational activity aims to discuss recent clinical advances in breast oncology that have emerged from presentations at recent international meetings including ASCO, ESMO and SABCS. The activity allows for interaction between UCSD faculty and meeting attendees with the aim of implementing new standards of patient care and advancing clinical practice. Participants will gain up-to-date, practical information with immediate clinical application.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
• Identify clinical trial data that allows physicians to provide personalized local and systemic therapy in the management of early and late stage breast cancer of all subtypes.
• Identify ongoing clinical trials aimed at reducing breast cancer recurrence in early stage breast cancer and improving survival in advanced breast cancer
• Recognize prognostic and predictive biomarkers and how to incorporate them into clinical decision-making and practice.
Accreditation
The University of California San Diego School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of California San Diego School of Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 2.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. For the purpose of relicensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (report up to 2.50 hours of credit and list "CME Category 1" as the provider number).
AAPA:
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 2.50 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.
American Board of Surgery (ABS): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirement of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
