Target Audience:
This event is designed to be of interest to physicians, physican assistants, nurse practitioners and all other health care professionals involved in primary care and follow-up care for patients who have been treated for cancer.
Description:
This event offers an opportunity for health care providers in primary care settings to learn about the complexities during the transition of patients from oncology back to primary care settings. Attendees will gain the information necessary to identify side effects of new immunotherapies used for treating cancer patients and manage long-term consequences of cancer treatments, including pain management and rehabilitation as well as connecting patients to fertility preservation and reproductive health specialists.
Learning Objectives:
After attending this activity, participants will understand and/or be able to implement:
• The management of patients transitioning back to the primary care provider after cancer treatment
• The use and side effect profile of new immunotherapies
• Fertility preservation and reporductive health in cancer survivors
• Identifying and managing long-term consequences of cancer treatments
