Dr. Lesly Dossett MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Dossett earned her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2010. During a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship, she was awarded an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) training grant and obtained a Masters in Public Health with a focus on epidemiology, patient-centered outcomes, quality, and policy. She entered active duty with the United States Navy where she served as a Staff Surgeon in various roles stateside and overseas. After fulfillment of her active duty obligation, Dr. Dossett entered a clinical fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. She joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 2016. She has recently received a K08 from AHRQ to study the implementation of a modified error resolution process for application between cancer care facilities.
