Description:
This CME conference aims to deliver a comprehensive educational update that highlights the most clinically relevant advances in chronic liver and gastrointestinal (GI) diseases.

The 1.5-day conference will have a strong focus on viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, complications of cirrhosis, including hepatic encephalopathy and thrombocytopenia, hepatocellular carcinoma, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Statement of Need / Program Overview:
Digestive diseases include a wide spectrum of disorders that affects the oropharynx and alimentary canal, liver and biliary system, and pancreas. Chronic GI disorders are common in the US, and predominance is increasing. Substantial overlap can be found in the symptoms of serious GI diseases and the symptoms of benign or functional GI diseases. Noninvasive diagnostic tests, sensible clinical evaluation plans, and a clear understanding of disease progression will enhance the patient assessment/management and recognize the right patients for referral to GI specialists. For patients with a confirmed analysis of a chronic GI disorder, advances in the understanding of the clinical impact of evolving treatment options offer new choices for managing these conditions.

The conference format will consist of lectures, Q&A/panel discussions, and parallel breakout sessions for in-depth discussions of high-interest topics.

Upon completion of this conference, participants should be better able to:
• Define evolving patient management and treatment of strategies for CLD and GI disorders
• Combine significant advances in therapeutic and diagnostic modalities into clinical practice
