OVERVIEW

Vascular Interpretation and RPVI Registry Review Course is organized by Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GCUS) Inc. and will be held from Feb 07 - 08, 2019 at Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute, St Petersburg, Florida, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 16.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Target Audience :
Any medical professional looking to enhance their vascular interpretation skills and physicians preparing to take the ARDMS RPVI examination. Vascular surgery, general surgery, cardiologists, internal medicine, neurologists, primary care, radiologists, PAs and nurse practitioners with a minimum of 6 months experience or those who have attended an introductory/intermediate level GUI program (or other similar program). Experienced sonographers may also attend. The RPVI registry review course is also effective for physicians or other medical professionals who need to fulfill vascular CME requirements.

Description :
Vascular Interpretation and RPVI Registry Review Live Training Courses are taught by leading vascular ultrasound experts that includes interactive case studies & mock exams with a 99% RPVI Board Exam Pass Rate. The Vascular Interpretation and RPVI Registry Review Course is designed for medical professionals to improve their vascular interpretation skills and/or prepare to take the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) board examination. This vascular ultrasound program includes lectures based on APCA content outlines, interactive case presentations, and mock examinations using an audience response system to improve diagnostic confidence and competence. All participants have 5 Day Access to Online Registry Review Course.

Topics :
• Hemodynamic Principles & Doppler Fundamentals
• Instrumentation: Transducers, Imaging Modes & Artifacts
• Normal Carotid Anatomy, Waveforms & Scan Protocol
• (including IMT Measurements)
• Overview of Abnormal Carotid Waveform - Characteristics & Diagnostic Criteria
• Integration of Data: Study Interpretation & Reporting
• Abnormalities of the Vertebrobasilar System & TCD
• Interactive Carotid & TCD Cases
• Abdominal Aorta and Aortic Endografts
• Peripheral Arterial: Protocols & Methods of Evaluating Disease
• Indirect Physiologic Studies (35 min)
• Arterial Duplex

• Peripheral Venous: Protocols& Methods to Detect DVT
• Venous Insufficiency & Physiologic Testing
• Venous Imaging of the Upper Extremity
• Interactive Cases Peripheral Arterial and Venous
• Quality Assurance, Safety & Bioeffects

Objectives :
• Increase the participants’ knowledge and competence to perform and/or interpret vascular ultrasound examinations.
• Analyze Doppler/color physics that affect optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen Doppler/color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.
• Recognize normal/abnormal imaging, spectral Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral arterial and venous disease.
• Cite the role of indirect testing in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial disease.
• Apply diagnostic criteria for evaluation of carotid, peripheral venous and arterial disease.
• Interpret complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in an interactive interpretation session format.
• Recognize ultrasound findings associated with aortic endograft leaks.
• Differentiate normal and abnormal spectral Doppler characteristics associated with renal artery and dialysis access graft evaluations.
• Integrate the key diagnostic elements into a structured report.
• Increase confidence to incorporate protocols, techniques and diagnostic criteria to improve diagnosis/treatment accuracy.
