EMBL Industry Workshop: Cryo-EM in Industry and Academia

EMBL Industry Workshop: Cryo-electron microscopy (EM) in Industry and Academia is organized by European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and will be held from Feb 06 - 08, 2019 at EMBL Advance Training Centre, Heidelberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.

Conference Overview:
Recent technical developments in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and cryo-tomography now allow structures of challenging targets relevant for the pharmaceutical industry (membrane proteins, multi-subunit complexes, chromatin complexes etc.) to be determined at unprecedented resolution. This workshop is aimed at members of the pharmaceutical and allied industrial sectors that use (or are considering using) cryo-EM in drug discovery and agricultural research, academic researchers interested in the impact of state-of-the-art cryo-EM in drug discovery, and cryo-EM support staff that want to learn more about the specific needs of industry.

Structural biologists from leading pharmaceutical companies and academia have joined forces to co-organise a science-driven meeting to exchange trends, ideas, use-cases, opportunities and challenges related to the use of cryo-EM in industry and academia.
