Perioperative Management of the Cancer Patients is organized by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and will be held during Apr 19 - 20, 2018 at Rockefeller Research Laboratories, New York, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is for physicians, nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals who are involved in the care of oncology patients in the setting of surgery. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 12.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description:
The primary goal of this course is to educate healthcare professionals to new advances in the perioperative management of cancer patients through lectures, didactic discussions, and workshops.

Workshop Topics: Transthoracic Echocardiography - Learn the FATE Protocol to assess patients in the perioperative period Regional (TAP blocks, PEC blocks, Paravertebral) - Learn several regional blocks for intra and postoperative analgesia Lung Isolation Techniques - Review and practice lung isolation techniques Difficult Airway - Identify and manage the difficult airway with different modalities
Case Discussions: PONV: The MSK Approach - Review the most effective therapies to prevent or treat postoperative nausea and vomiting Goal Directed Fluid Therapy - Discuss specifics of GDFT and different technologies available Ethical Issues - Discuss the unique issues involved in balancing medical treatment and end of life care. Challenges of Sedation - Describe sedation techniques for patients undergoing various procedures outside the operating room.
In addition to the workshops and case discussions, attendees can select a small group tour of the MSK Josie Robertson Surgical Center for Ambulatory Cancer Surgery.
