Conference Description:
The goal of the Transplant Nutrition Workshop is to provide state-of-the-art information on the science and practice of transplant nutrition to solid organ transplant dietitians and other transplant professionals. The workshop offers continuing education lectures on current adult and pediatric topics as well as a practice poster session, round-table sessions, and other opportunities for networking and informal practice discussions. This workshop is appropriate for both the entry level and the advanced practice transplant dietitian and provides content to maintain required competency in transplant nutrition.
At the conclusion of the 2-day Transplant Nutrition Workshop, the attendees will be able to:
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate nutrition treatment for the solid transplant patient, in both the adult and pediatric transplant population, while considering vitamin and mineral needs, nutritional and functional status, metabolic derangement, and bone status.
• Understand what persistent inflammation immunosuppression catabolic syndrome is and how it can impact nutritional needs and outcomes in transplant recipients.
• Improve working knowledge of QAPI process and how it can improve transplant nutrition practices.
