OVERVIEW

Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Course and Cadaver Lab is organized by USF Health’s Office of Continuing Professional Development and will be held during Jan 13 - 14, 2018 at USF Health, Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS), Tampa, Florida, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is obstetricians and gynecologists, gynecologic surgeons, OB-GYN residents and fellows. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 17.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description :

This course is designed to provide an in-depth experience in Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgical techniques. It is designed for gynecologic surgeons who desire to advance their laparoscopic skills and knowledge base, and apply these skills to perform more advanced Minimally Invasive Surgeries in their practice. It will include training in laparoscopic suturing techniques, laparoscopic surgical dissection and effective use of laparoscopic instrumentation and electrosurgery. The participants will learn and practice surgical techniques for efficient and safe total laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy, and to prevent and repair incidental bladder and bowel injuries. Inanimate laparoscopic trainers are available throughout the entire course so that participants can master the skills of laparoscopic suturing and knot tying.

Conference Objectives are :

• Describe pelvic anatomy as it relates to Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery.
• Select appropriate surgical techniques and instrumentation for use in Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery.
• Demonstrate laparoscopic suturing and knot tying according to the FLS standards.
• Demonstrate advanced laparoscopic Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgical procedures including the basic steps of laparoscopic bladder and bowel injury repair.
