Laser Prostate Cadaveric course 2018

Laser Prostate Cadaveric course is organized by Newcastle Surgical Training Centre (NSTC) and will be held on Jan 11, 2018 at Newcastle Surgical Training Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom.

The target audience for this medical event is consultants and senior trainees who are interested in Prostate Laser Surgery, Holmium and high power KTP techniques.

Conference Description :

This 1 day course will deliver a mix of top-tips and techniques for using 2 different laser modalities, a discussion on pros and cons of each modality, pitfalls on setting up a laser service as well as edited video techniques for each modality. Invited experts will give their views on their modality. Each participant will have the opportunity over 3 sessions to have hands on experience and training in HOLEP and Greenlight XPS guided by experts in these fields on fresh cadaveric prostates. Simulators and morcellation will also be available.

This Course includes :

• High power KTP laser vapourisation (Greenlight XPS) using MoXy saline cooled fibres
• Holmium laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HOLEP)
• Morcellation of prostate tissue

Conference Objectives are :

• Understand the advantages and disadvantages of HOLEP and Greenlight XPS.
• Experience the difference in techniques and laser energy delivery between each modality.
• Have practical hands on training in each modality on cadaveric prostates.
• Train in safe morcellation after HOLEP
