Psychiatry Update Encore Presentation is organized by American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists (AACP) and will be held from Dec 02 - 04, 2018 at Encore Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is designed for general and geriatric psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, psychologists, social workers and other mental health professionals interested in treating patients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Women’s Mental Health, Depression, Psychopharmacology, Schizophrenia, Geriatric Psychiatry, Medicolegal Issues, Sexual Dysfunction, Chronic Pain, Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Bipolar Disorder. Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Compare current pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment strategies for management of a range of disorders, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Women’s Mental Health, Depression, Schizophrenia, Geriatric Psychiatry, Sexual Dysfunction, Chronic Pain, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).
• Explain how the goals of law differ from the goals of medicine.
• Clarify the difference between jails and prisons in regard to the role of the psychiatrist.
• Discuss the role of risk management in practice.
• Revise clinical assumptions based on biology, to include intuitive understanding of patients’ sexual aspirations.
• Be able to recite several advances in schizophrenia including: genetic and nongenetic etiologies, abnormalities in the mitochondria and microglia activation leading to oxidative stress and inflammation, and emerging treatment and prevention strategies.
• Describe risk genes, CNV and mutations as well as perinatal complications as etiological factors, the pathophysiology of psychotic episodes, the possible role of the microbiome , the relationship to frontotemporal dementia, BBB hyperpermeability, the encephalitis hypothesis, immune dysregulation and non-dopaminergic approaches to treating schizophrenia.
