OVERVIEW

31st Annual Southern Region Burn CME Conference 2018 is organized by Southern Medical Association (SMA) and will be held from Nov 08 - 11, 2018 at Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel, Mobile, Alabama, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, residents, fellows, occupational and physical therapists, social workers, case managers, psychologists, nutritionists, burn technicians, prevention educators, pharmacists and other personnel involved in burn care. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 24.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Overview:
An informative and energizing learning resource for all burn care disciplines, at all career stages. The curriculum focuses on evidence-based practice, treatment modalities, rehabilitation, prevention, research, outreach programs, and burn units’ work in progress.

This conference provides an informed vision of current practices and emerging advances in rehabilitation, research, prevention education, outreach programs, evidence-based medicine, and burn units' work-in-progress.

Learning Objectives:
A multidisciplinary, systematic approach to burn care assessment, management and rehabilitation is essential for improving patient outcomes and their quality of life. After participating in this peer-reviewed conference, attendees should be better prepared to implement current treatments, apply evidence-based practices, execute burn prevention strategies, implement community outreach programs, and be more competent to:
• Discuss advances in burn research and understand current clinical studies
• Implement an evidence-based wound management program
• Describe surgical interventions, scar and pain management
• Explain infection control, nutritional support and rehabilitation strategies
• Comprehend positive effects of prevention programs, rehabilitative camps and community re-integration
