OVERVIEW
24th Annual Pennsylvania Immunization Conference: No Matter the Size, Immunize is organized by Penn State University (PSU) College of Medicine Continuing Education and will be held on Aug 16, 2018 at Hilton Harrisburg, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Pediatricians, Family physicians, Health educators, Nurses, Medical students, Practice managers, Residents, Physician assistants, Nurse practitioners, Nursing students. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Objectives are :
• Use current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) immunization recommendations in local clinics and practices to maximize protection against vaccine preventable diseases throughout Pennsylvania.
• Describe the physiologic and psychosocial life altering changes among persons who have been diagnosed with polio.
• Review methods on how to promote immunization in communities when encountering vaccine hesitancy.
• Summarize Pennsylvania’s data related to mumps incidence, morbidity, mortality and the effectiveness of prevention strategies.
• Discuss the responsibility to protect patients against vaccine-preventable diseases by ensuring health care providers have up-to-date immunizations in practice.
• Use evidence-based strategies to prepare practice settings vaccine-preventable disease.
• Describe the physiologic and psychosocial life altering changes among persons who have been diagnosed with vaccine-preventable diseases (i.e., haemophilus influenzae type B, pertussis, hepatitis B and influenza).
