Raymond A. Strikas MD, MPH, FACP, FIDSA

Dr. Raymond A. Strikas is a medical officer in the Office of the Director, Immunization Services Division, NCIRD, CDC, HHS in Atlanta, Georgia. He presently is the Senior Adviser for Adult Immunization and Preparedness in this office. In this capacity, he has responsibility for assisting coordination of adult immunization programs, pandemic influenza preparedness, and biodefense preparedness.

He received his undergraduate and doctor of medicine degrees from the University of Illinois in Chicago, the latter in 1978. He completed training in internal medicine in 1981, and in infectious diseases in 1983, at both the Hines Veterans' Affairs Medical Center and Loyola University Medical Center near Chicago. He received his Master of Public Health degree from George Washington University in 2011. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases, is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is a captain in the U.S. Public Health Service.
