16th Annual Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) Symposium, Special Topic Workshop and Annual Alzheimer's Public Educational Forum

16th Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) Symposium, Special Topic Workshop and Annual Alzheimer's Public Educational Forum is organized by Mount Sinai Medical Center and will be held during Jan 20 - 21, 2018 at Miami Beach Resort and Spa, Miami Beach, Florida, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

This CME/CE accredited event will attract over 250 attendees from around the world, including academic and industry scientists, government and association/foundation representatives, professional healthcare providers and, for the Public Forum, family caregivers.

The 2018 edition of this symposium will include three keynote addresses and several lectures, featuring national experts in the fields of neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, neuropsychology, radiology, epidemiology, pathology and molecular biology. Each session will be followed by an extended discussion period, allowing active audience participation to promote a better understanding of the issues.

The workshop will include a special lecture, a keynote lecture, and several podium presentations, concluding with a moderated panel discussion.

This educational forum intended for the public at large, aims to provide information about the latest research in the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and the results from clinical drug trials, including prevention studies. The forum will allow the audience to interact with top scientists in the field in the presence of a moderator. The Forum is a free event to the public.

The Alzheimer's Public Educational Forum is intended for at-risk family members, caregivers, the community at large and professionals. This educational segment will focus on Bilingualism, Behavior and Genetics of MCI.

The 2018 MCI Symposium will feature three sessions :

The Special Topic Workshop will focus on Bilingualism: Neuropsychology and Imaging.

Conference Objectives are :

• Explain the role of genetics in neurodegenerative and vascular diseases of the brain.
• Discuss the role of cognitive and brain reserve in the neuropsychological diagnosis of normal and abnormal aging.
• Describe mild behavioral impairment (MBI) and epidemiological evidence for neuropsychiatric symptoms as predictors of MCI and dementia.
• List important clinical trials in asymptomatic and prodromal Alzheimer’s disease.
• Summarize the evidence for the effect of multilingualism on brain and cognitive functioning.
