Perineal Repair Course is organized by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and would be held on Nov 17, 2017 at Postgraduate Medical Education Centre & Clinical Skills, R Floor, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, England, United Kingdom.
The Workshop for the Repair of 2nd, 3rd and 4th Degree Tears is a recognised training course for Consultants, Registrars, Trainees, Midwives and Colorectal Surgeons and forms part of the Yorkshire & Humber Dearnery training.
Course Content :
The full course programme will last the whole day and include three modes of learning - the theoretical, audio/visual, and workshop portions:
Theoretical :
• Types of perineal tears & the outcome of repairs from the available evidence
• Risk management issues
• Role of the perneal trauma clinic
• Management of established faecal incontinence
• Management of persistent tears & faecal incontinence
• Anatomy of perieum, pelvic floor & anal canal
• Methods of repair using perineal trainers
Audio Visual Images :
• Live video demonstration of anal sphincter anatomy and perineal body and demonstration of repair of 4th degree tear.
Workshop :
• Suturing perineal tears on perineal trainers
