AOTrauma Course-Advanced Principles of Fracture Management is organized by AO North America and would be held during Oct 26 - 29, 2017 at Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa, Markham, Ontario, Canada.
The target audience for this medical event for physicians. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 27.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This Advanced Course will focus on the treatment of complex fractures and fracture complications. This will be accomplished through didactic presentations and group discussions between the participants and faculty. In addition, surgical techniques will be practiced on artificial bones. Topics will include: complex fractures of the upper and lower extremities, fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum, fracture complications and polytrauma management. Participants will have opportunity to address treatment of malunions and nonunions, using preoperative planning and current fixation techniques.
Learner Objectives :
• Apply reduction techniques in fracture management with attention to soft tissues.
• Assess and treat complex diaphyseal and (peri)articular fractures using advanced application techniques.
• Initiate appropriate management for patients with pelvic injuries and polytrauma.
• Recognize complications and manage accordingly.
