OVERVIEW
Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) Course is organized by Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) and would be held during Jun 15 - 17, 2017 at Sleeping Lady Resort, Leavenworth, Washington, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 20.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description:
Inspired by the resemblance of the surrounding countryside to Bavarian Germany, with its mountain wilderness and rolling meadows, the town of Leavenworth was remodeled as a Bavarian alpine village. The beautiful mountain setting offers many recreation opportunities including: rock climbing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, rafting and a myriad of other outdoor activities. Leavenworth is also home to wineries, museums and many excellent restaurants. Its location just 2 hours from Seattle makes it a convenient destination in the summer and an ideal setting for an AWLS course.
Course Objectives :
• To provide a practical foundation in Wilderness Medicine for medical professionals
• To teach patient assessment and treatment guidelines for life support until definitive care or evacuation is available
• To train the provider in methods for managing medical and trauma emergencies and urgencies in the wilderness when evacuation is unavailable or unnecessary
