5th National Conference on Psychiatry and Physical Health is organized by MA Healthcare Ltd, British Journal of Hospital Medicine and British Journal of Mental Health Nursing and will be held on Dec 07, 2017 at Academy of Medical Sciences, London, England, United Kingdom.

Psychiatry and Physical Health 2017: Practical ways to improve physical healthcare for people with mental illness. PPH 2017 is a one day CPD certified conference examining the challenges of identifying and managing physical health issues in mental health patients. It will provide practical guidance on how you can improve the physical healthcare of your patients that will translate into clinical practice. This conference aims to bring together specialists involved in all aspects of psychiatric care including those who specialise in child and adolescent psychiatry, old age psychiatry, and liaison psychiatry, along with general practitioners, mental health pharmacists, psychiatric nurses and all trainees in these disciplines.
This year we topics will include:
• Improving physical health checks for people who experience serious mental illness (SMI);
• Dementia and delirium: recognition and management for elderly patients with SMI;
• Outcomes for drug treatment in Psychosis: targeted interventions to tackle metabolic syndrome;
• Sexual and reproductive health: a medical update;
• A guide to Neurological issues (epilepsy, dementia & Parkinson’s)- deciding when to escalate;
• Management of oral health in people with SMII;
• Cardiovascular disease: spotting abnormalities on the ECG and
• Breathing SPACE- a practical approach to the breathless patient.
