OVERVIEW
16th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting is organized by American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) and would be held during Nov 16 - 18, 2017 at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States Of America.
Educational objectives:
After participating in this educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Review current basic science, clinical, and translational research in pain medicine and their role in the development of novel analgesics, new targets for interventional techniques, and applicability to clinical practice.
• Develop a critical Interpretation of current research on mechanisms underlying challenging pain syndromes in order to offer patients the best evidence-based therapies.
• Assess the advantages and limitations of the available diagnostic and treatment techniques.
• Address common clinical challenges in the management of acute and chronic pain, including those encountered in special populations.
• Establish safe and appropriate opioid prescription guidelines in the current epidemic environment of opioid abuse.
• Evaluate and debate new trends, techniques, therapies, and diagnostic procedures in pain management.
• Discuss the value of integrative therapies in the management of neuropathic pain syndromes.
• Discuss the most important practice management issues.
Highlights :
• Sessions on spinal pain, advances in neuromodulation, and treating patients with challenging conditions, including fibromyalgia, facial pain, urogenital pain, and terminal cancer.
• Presentations from leaders of the CDC, NIH, and state payment agencies.
• Insight on “Prospering in the New Healthcare Environment”.
• ASA/ASRA practice management sessions designed for interactive discussion on coding/compliance, managing a pain practice, and key aspects of MACRA in 2017 and in the years to come.
• Hands-on workshops in areas of ultrasound and fluoroscopy including regenerative medicine, radiofrequency ablation techniques, and surgical practicum.
• Credits toward ASRA’s Pain and MSK Interventional Ultrasound Certificate.
• Dedicated PA/NP program and targeted interactive sessions on intrathecal therapy, diagnostic imaging, and the hands-on physical exam workshop.
• Resident/Fellow educational program with not only relevant clinical information, but also leading clinical and practice management experts discussing how to transition successfully into practice.
