11th Annual Advanced Practice Conference is organized by Children's Health and would be held during Oct 19 - 20, 2017 at Great Wolf Lodge, Grapevine, Texas, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event for Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, registered nurses and allied health professionals within primary care, acute care and specialty roles. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 12.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Conference Description :
This Conference is aimed at educating health care providers on a variety of topics specific to the pediatric population. Information gained will help providers broaden their scope of knowledge in a variety of areas including the psychology of technology, mental illness in the foster care population, adolescent medicine, celiac disease, food allergies with an update in recent peanut recommendations, metabolic syndrome in pediatrics, chest wall anomalies and an antibiotic update.

The purpose of this conference is to enhance the knowledge of the health care professional working in the area of pediatrics by addressing a wide variety of topics focused on pediatric specialties in an effort to improve the delivery of safe and up-to-date care to this vulnerable population.

Conference Objectives are :
• Discuss the relationship between the use of technology and neurodevelopment as well as mood/personality disorders.
• Examine the relationship between foster care placement as a predictor of mental illness.
• Identify counseling methods for teens to reduce the risk and negative health consequences associated with adolescent sexual behaviors.
• Explain the risk factors, pathophysiology and clinical presentation of celiac disease.
• Recognize appropriate antibiotic treatment and antibiotic resistance patterns.
• Describe the diagnostic evaluation for food allergies, and treatments if any.
• Discuss the main types of chest wall anomalies as well as treatment options for pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum.
• Recognize symptoms of metabolic syndrome in pediatrics and options for prevention and treatment.
