The 2026 APP Symposium Progress, Not Perfection: Navigating Technology in Modern Healthcare will examine the evolution of medicine and the expanding role of clinicians in an increasingly technology-driven healthcare landscape. As medicine has progressed from traditional models of care to more advanced, data-informed, and patient-centered practices, innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), telemedicine, digital diagnostics, wearable health technology, and EHR optimization have transformed how clinicians assess, diagnose, treat and monitor patients. Attendees will explore how these advancements are enhancing clinical decision-making, improving efficiency, expanding access to care, and redefining the role of APPs in modern medicine.
Course Objectives:
As a result of participation in this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe the progression of medicine from traditional clinical practice to a more technology-driven, data-informed, and patient-centered model of care.
- Identify key technological innovations in healthcare, including artificial intelligence, telemedicine, digital diagnostics, wearable devices, and HER optimization, and their impact on clinical practice.

- Evaluate the evolving role of Advanced Practice Providers in adapting to innovation while maintaining high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate patient care.
- Apply strategies and evaluating the ethics of integrating new technologies into clinical practice to improve efficiency, patient engagement, access to care, and overall health outcomes.
