Anu Partap, MD, MPH has been a pediatrician for over 20 years, serving predominantly in safety-net pediatric health care systems. She is Indian American, a St. Louis Native, and has lived in Texas since 2007. Since 2020, she has served as the medical director of health equity at Cook Children’s Health Care System.

She completed medical school at the University of Missouri Kansas City Six Year Program and her pediatric residency in Phoenix, followed by an HRSA research fellowship to study the impact of family violence on children, a focus that has remained to this day. She completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Arizona while also training on the Gila River Indian Reservation for two years.

After moving to Texas, she served as the Foster Care Clinic Medical Director at the University of Texas Southwestern and helped launch the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children’s Health. During this time, she also served as a consultant for Texas Health and Human Services Commission and DFPS on foster care health. In 2018, she joined Cook Children’s as Medical Director of the Center for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and Chair of the Tarrant County ACES Task Force before assuming her new role as medical director of health equity.
