The 53rd ERA-EDTA Congress, which will be held in 2016 in the middle of Europe in beautiful Vienna, the scientific committee has created, in collaboration with the Austrian Society of Nephrology, an attractive and balanced program, comprising reports on latest research results as well as high-level overview presentations on practical issues including clinical guidelines. The central theme of the congress “from big data to personalized therapy - biostatistics meets molecular medicine” is reflected in the plenary lectures, which focus on far-reaching aspects such as health policy making in the European Community, integrative system biology and drug development.
