On September 10 and 11 celebrates the Department of Urology of the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands its 50st anniversary. Over the years the department has had a major impact on nowadays urological practice. Various areas of urology are dealt with by the department. One of the well-known activities of the Department deals with functional urology.
Therefore a live surgery day will be organized on the 10th of September in order to show state-of-the- art functional procedures including various types of sling surgery in women, sphincter prosthesis in men and women, neuromodulation systems and botulinum toxin A injections. The procedures will be demonstrated by top of the bill urological surgeons that know the procedures from a practical as well as scientific point of view. They will show the procedures and discuss surgical details and the scientific content. The live surgery event is organized with support from the European Section of Female and Functional Urology and will be endorsed by the Live Surgery Committee of the EAU.
