11th MD Anderson Cancer Center and MD Anderson Physicians Network Symposium : Translating Molecular Biology into Individualized Cancer Care

The MD Anderson Cancer Center and MD Anderson Physicians Network Symposium: Translating Molecular Biology into Individualized Cancer Care will address the rapidly evolving definition of disease subsets based on molecular testing, potential therapeutic targets of cancer cells, challenges of combining local, regional, and systemic therapeutic agents into the most effective multidisciplinary treatment strategies for each tumor type and subtype, and the understanding of the immune system as it relates to the survival of the cancer cell as well as the increasingly effective immunological interventions that are making the most resistant types of cancer sensitive to immunotherapy.

Additionally, this symposium will highlight the importance of fertility issues, integrative oncology, palliative care, and end-of-life issues for cancer patients. These professional practice gaps will be addressed through highly focused lectures and translated to clinical practice with case-based discussions.
