Dr. Armeen Mahvash joined MD Anderson in 2006 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interventional Radiology, Division of Diagnostic Imaging. He was subsequently promoted to Associate professor in 2012. Dr. Mahvash was also Faculty of the Year for MD Anderson Cancer Center, Interventional Radiology in 2014. Dr. Mahvash’s research interests include combining Local and Regional Interventional Therapies with Systemic Therapy, Phase III clinical trial evaluating TheraSphere in patients with metastatic colorectal carcinoma of the liver who have failed first-line chemotherapy, Sorafenib and yttrium-90 glass microspheres for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) with yttrium glass and resin microspheres, SIRT Tumor Dosimetry. His clinical interests include selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) with yttrium glass and resin microspheres, Colorectal cancer, Hepatocellular cancer, Cholangiocarcinoma.
