OVERVIEW

Managing patients with neurotrauma is challenging for neurosurgical residents. It is critical to be able to classify injuries according to fracture morphology, instability, and neurological status. Choosing the best operative and non-operative treatment options for each patient according to current guidelines and best available evidence is key in clinical decision making.

Course participants will have a unique opportunity to advance their knowledge and surgical skills in brain and spinal cord trauma through didactic lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on practical exercises with renowned neurotrauma thought leaders. Systematic, skeletal, and soft tissue considerations in managing patients with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries will be addressed.
