Zofia Piotrowska MD, MHS

Dr. Zofia Piotrowska, MD, MHS, is a thoracic medical oncologist, physician-scientist, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is an Associate Physician in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and serves as Co-Clinical Director of the Mass General Brigham Thoracic Medical Oncology Program. She specializes in the care of patients with lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies while leading clinical and translational research focused on improving targeted treatment strategies.

Dr. Piotrowska's research centers on precision oncology, particularly understanding and overcoming acquired resistance to targeted therapies in EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). She leads and participates in numerous early-phase and multicenter clinical trials investigating novel targeted therapies, combination treatment strategies, and biomarker-driven approaches for both non-small cell and small cell lung cancers. Her work aims to translate molecular discoveries into more effective, personalized therapies that improve outcomes for patients with thoracic cancers.

She earned her MD from Yale University School of Medicine, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and completed a combined Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship through Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is recognized internationally for her contributions to targeted therapy research in lung cancer.
