Zarni Win MBBS, BSc, MSc, MRCP, FRCR

Dr. Zarni Win is a dual specialist consultant radiologist and consultant nuclear medicine physician and is the Head of Service Nuclear Medicine at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, running the Nuclear Medicine over three sites (Hammersmith, Charing Cross, and St Mary’s Hospitals). He trained in both specialties at the Hammersmith Hospital. He gained an MSc in Nuclear Medicine at King’s College London, specializing in PET imaging, and a BSc in Psychology as an undergraduate.

He is an expert in dementia PET imaging, involving amyloid and FDG tracers. He is a pioneer in clinical amyloid PET imaging in the investigation of dementia, introducing the first clinical Amyvid scan to the UK in 2013. He was a Amyvid PET trainer, for Eli Lily, training other radiologists and clinicians to read Amyvid PET scans, and also participated in their advisory panels. He is currently a research PET reader for the AMYPAD PET consortium and is involved with several other dementia PET studies with Imperial College and the commercial sector.
