Zahid H. Bajwa MD

Zahid Bajwa, MD is the Director of the Headache Institute at Boston PainCare. He also serves as Boston PainCare’s Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Bajwa is recognized nationally as one of the leading pain and headache specialists in the United States and joins the staff at Boston PainCare after a distinguished 18-year career at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as an attending physician in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. Dr. Bajwa has served at the Harvard Medical School as an instructor, assistant professor, and most recently as an associate professor.

Dr. Bajwa attended medical school at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his postdoctoral medical training at SUNY County Hospital in New York, followed by a residency in neurology at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Bajwa next completed a pain medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Bajwa is board certified in both neurology and pain medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also board certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine.
