Prof. Yuqing Zhang, MD., who is an associate professor of medicine, is now working in the Division of Hypertension, Fu Wai Hospital, Chinese Academy Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China. He received his doctorate from the Postgraduate School of Chinese Academy Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College in 2000.

During and after his training period, he was involved many multicenter, outcome trials of hypertension, including Syst-China, FEVER, CHIEF,CHINOM and ESH-CHL-SHOT studies. He is the coordinator of the FEVER study which is the largest hypertension outcome trial in China. He has published more than 20 papers including many original research papers.

He is the coordinator of the 11th National Five-year Plan Project- Chinese Hypertension Intervention Efficacy Study (CHIEF Study). He also works for the ongoing study of Chinese High Normal Blood Pressure Study (CHINOM) and serves as a principal coordinator and a member of the Steering Committee of the ESH-CHL-SHOT Study collaborated between ESH and CHL since 2012. He also participates in the ongoing ARTERMIS study which is a registry study of ABPM led by European Society of Hypertension.

He is the Treasury and executive council member of Chinese Hypertension League, the Vice secretary of Hypertension Professional Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Secretary of Beijing Hypertension Society, Vice President of the Youth Committee of Beijing Society of Cardiology. He is also a fellow of European Society of Cardiology, a member of American College of Cardiology (ACC), European Society of Hypertension (ESH), American Heart Association (AHA, Council of High Blood Pressure Research and Stroke Council).
