Yuh-fun Maa PhD

Yuh-Fun Maa is a Senior Principal Engineer at Genentech. He is a three-time winner of the PDA’s Frederick D. Simon Award. An effective leader/manager with a full understanding of biological drug substances, drug products, and the combination product development process. He is a versatile engineer specializing in drug product processing such as pre-filled syringe and primary packaging and in formulating biomolecules (proteins/peptides/vaccines) for novel drug delivery systems/technologies (inhalation, skin/epidermal delivery, controlled release/microspheres, etc.), proficient in a wide range of formulation processes (spray-drying, lyophilization, spray-freeze-drying, spray-coating, coating, etc.), and well documented with extensive publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, patents, and patent applications. He is a strong development technologist with extensive CMC experience ranging from API sourcing/qualification, specification setting, and formulation development.
