Dr. Lee is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Lee’s clinical efforts are focused on the treatment of prostate cancer with radiotherapy (external beam or brachytherapy). His current research interests include image-guided techniques that integrate bio-anatomic information into the treatment planning and delivery processes, indicators of quality in prostate brachytherapy, and novel fractionation schemes in the treatment of prostate cancer. He is active within the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and is the PI of a Phase II trial examining the combination of low dose-rate brachytherapy with external beam radiotherapy and a Phase III trial comparing hypofractionated external beam radiotherapy to conventionally fractionated external beam radiotherapy. He is the PI of a stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) protocol examining the toxicity and efficacy of an extreme hypofractionated regimen (37 Gy in 5 fractions) using continuous target localization and online optimization.
