William P. Dillon, MD, is the Elizabeth A. Guillaumin Professor of Radiology in the section of Neuroradiology. Dr. Dillon received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed his residency at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1982. In 1992, he was appointed Chief of the Neuroradiology section UCSF.

Dr. Dillon is a past president of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) and the American Society of Neuroradiology. Dr. Dillon received the Gold Medal from the ASHNR in 2008 and the Gold Medal from the American Society of Neuroradiology in 2015. He was a Senior Editor for the American Journal of Neuroradiology from 1998 to 2011 and has been a co-investigator in 25 funded projects and 10 clinical trials. He has published 230 articles, 23 book chapters, and 3 books.
