Dr. William M. Lydiatt is a Professor of Surgery at Creighton University, a Clinical Professor of Surgery at UNMC, and is President-Elect of the AHNS. He is Chair of the AJCC 9th Edition Head and Neck Staging panel and a member of the AJCC Editorial Board.

He received his BS from Stanford, MD, his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency from the University of Nebraska, and his Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY. Dr. Lydiatt received his EMBA from the University of Colorado. A former CMO, he has also held multiple VP positions in Medical Affairs, Surgical Services, and Chair of Surgery at Nebraska Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Lydiatt has a long-standing interest in the prevention of depression in Head & Neck Cancer patients, and the use of the arts to enhance teaching and understanding of the patient experience. He has also written over 150 publications, books, and book chapters in the field.
