Doctor Lloyd is dual Board Certified in Ophthalmology and Pathology and is an elected Fellow to the American College of Surgeons as well as the College of American Pathologists. He is an experienced clinician, scientist, and award-winning medical educator.

As a practicing eye surgeon, Doctor Lloyd has accumulated extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and operative management of complex vision disorders. He has authored or coauthored over 50 original manuscripts, textbooks and research abstracts. Doctor Lloyd has participated in numerous clinical trials for innovative ophthalmic devices and investigative medications. He is a reviewer for several leading medical journals and is a six-time recipient of the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Upon retirement from active military service Doctor Lloyd was awarded the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit.

Doctor Lloyd has held senior medical school faculty positions both at the University of Texas Health Science Center (San Antonio) as well as University of California Davis (Sacramento). While serving at the UC Davis School of Medicine, Doctor Lloyd received the Vice Chancellor’s Award for most siginificant physician contribution to medical education. A nationally-recognized authority in ophthalmic pathology, he lectures annually at Stanford University’s Bay Area Ophthalmology Course and at Harvard’s Lancaster Course in Ophthalmology. An active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Doctor Lloyd conducts a highly popular negotiating skills workshop for its LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM and moderates the YOUNG OPHTHALMOLOGISTS SYMPOSIUM at the AAO Annual Meeting. He has held leadership positions in various national and international professional organizations.
