61st Annual Postgraduate Symposium in Ophthalmology: Beyond the Basics: Subspecialty Tips for the Comprehensive Ophthalmologist is organized by The Ohio State University and will be held during Mar 09 - 10, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Columbus-Downtown, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 11.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Practicing comprehensive ophthalmologists routinely evaluate patients with cornea and retinal problems, as well as glaucoma. Over the past several years, there have been significant diagnostic and therapeutic advances in the field of glaucoma, anterior segment/cornea, diabetic retinopathy, cataract surgery, and other areas. The 61st Annual Postgraduate Symposium in Ophthalmology will educate ophthalmologists who may be unaware of these new advancements. In addition, first line providers will be familiarized with new medications and procedures as there has been an increase of patients needing treatment and surgeries.
Conference Objectives are :
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
• Explain the current treatment recommendations and guidelines for the management of diabetic retinopathy.
• Apply current treatment and testing guidelines for scleritis, episcleritis, and peripheral ulcerative keratitis.
• Recognize the ophthalmic manifestations of non-ocular malignancies.
• Describe and implement various targeted therapies and immunobiologic agents in the treatment of ocular disease.
• Develop a systematic approach to patients with tearing and eyelid malpositions.
• Interpret the outcomes of glaucoma studies as the apply to clinical practice.
• Formulate an approach to cataract surgery in the setting of uveitis and other complex pathologies.
• Evaluate new tools in the management of glaucoma.
• Explain and improve the thought processes ophthalmologists use in decision-making.
• Develop strategies to identify patients with factitious illness
