Vilma Urbancic Rovan MD, PhD

Vilma Urbancic completed her training in Diabetology at the University of Zagreb, Croatia and specialist training in internal medicine at University Medical Centre Ljubljana, Slovenia. Coordinator of Slovenian working group on the diabetic foot and moving spirit of national diabetic foot training courses for nurses since 1996. In 2006 she obtained her PhD degree and was elected as associate professor of internal medicine at Ljubljana University. Founding member of the DFSG and of the International Working Group on the Diabetic foot. She participated in all editions of the International Consensus on the Diabetic Foot. Joined the Step by Step project in 2009 and participated in the preparation of the Diabetic Foot Care Assistant program and development of Train the Foot Trainer program. Vice-president of D-Foot International. Loves teaching and is a strong believer in preventative programs.
