Dr. Hsiao, originally from Boulder, Colorado, received her B.A. magna cum laude in Biology from Harvard University, her Ph.D. in Pathobiology from Columbia University, and her M.D. from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed her fellowship training in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes at the University of Michigan Hospital. She served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center from 2010-2016. She joined the University of California – San Francisco as an Associate Clinical Professor in December 2016.
