Veronica Mills

Ms. Veronica Mills graduated from JCU with a Bachelor degree in Nursing Health Science in 1993 and, subsequently completed a postgraduate health science research masters in 2015. Veronica has specialised in Diabetes since 1995, has worked as a credentialed Diabetes Educator for Queensland Health since 1999 and runs a private practice clinic - "diabetes on track" in Rockhampton. In last 5 years, Veronica received four nominations for the JDRF Diabetes Educator of the year awards for ‘Excellence and Innovation', Impact and Relationships and People’s Choice categories.

Veronica has recently completed a postgraduate research masters’ degree within the school Health Science and Engineering at CQU and more recently has worked within the Sub Acute student clinic undertaking an Accident and Emergency project. Veronica’s special interest area is exercise benefits in diabetes and Type 1 diabetes, particularly pump therapy and the use of technology as remote means to access ongoing diabetes self-management and clinical care.
