Vahid Tohidi, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurologist and neuromuscular specialist with Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute Neurology Group. In addition to his role as division director of neuromuscular and peripheral disorders, he focuses his practice on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with neurological disease related to peripheral nervous system disorders.

As a neuromuscular specialist, Dr. Tohidi treats patients with disorders of the peripheral nervous system and autonomic nervous system, including spinal cord disorders, peripheral nerve disorders, and neuromuscular and muscular disorders. He offers a range of procedures and diagnostic tests to achieve the best possible results in all cases.

Dr. Tohidi earned his medical degree at the Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran and later earned a PhD in biology from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. He then went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at St. Francis and a neurology residency at the Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences in Edison, New Jersey. Dr. Tohidi concluded his postdoctoral training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City with a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine.

Dr. Tohidi is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with additional certification in neuromuscular medicine, and is also certified by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties in autonomic disorders.

He is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Autonomic Society. Throughout his education and career, he has participated in clinical research studies as principal investigator or co-investigator, and his work has appeared in numerous medical publications.
