Dr. Trisha Sheridan is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Specialty Coordinator of the Women’s Nurse Practitioner program. She is currently board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for Adults, Adolescents, and Pediatrics through the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN). Dr. Sheridan completed her DNP in nursing in 2015 at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston. Her research looked at the role of education and protocol implementation for HIV post-exposure prophylaxis for adult survivors of sexual assault. Dr. Sheridan obtained her BSN in nursing and her master's degree in nursing as a women’s health nurse practitioner from Columbia University.

Dr. Sheridan is a nationally known speaker with numerous presentations on Elder Abuse, Human Trafficking, and Forensic Nursing, and serves as a Director at Large on the Board of Directors for the IAFN, an international organization committed to providing leadership in forensic nursing practice by developing, promoting, and disseminating information internationally about forensic nursing science. Her clinical practice began as an emergency technician during her service in the Air Force. She currently practices both as a WHNP and as a Forensic Nurse.
