Tabbara is a Canadian national, American Board Certified general surgeon with 30 years of extensive experience in surgery with a special interest in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery including colon, gastric, adrenal… (Over 20 years’ experience) and in breast cancer patient management including Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy and oncoplastic surgery. He also specializes in state of the art outpatient management of varicose veins and painless management of benign anal diseases such as hemorrhoids.
Dr. Tabbara graduated in 1977 from the Aleppo Medical School, Syria. He then pursued his surgical residency training in Huron Road Hospital, Cleveland and Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. Subsequently, he joined subspecialty fellowship training in cardiovascular surgery at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He then obtained his American Board Certification in General Surgery and went to complete certification in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in 1990
Dr. Tabbara has managed all kinds of surgical emergencies including Diabetic Foot and is highly experienced in almost all minor and major surgical procedures. Dr Tabbara is well versed in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures, endocrine operations (conventional and video assisted), breast surgery, visceral surgery (gastro intestinal and colorectal operations), laparoscopic hernia repair, bile duct reconstruction operations, anorectal procedures, and emergency procedures, among other surgeries. He undertakes both diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopies and colonoscopies. He established the department of surgery from the start in Mississippi, USA and was responsible for planning and development of surgery theaters at Al Mafraq hospital Abu Dhabi
