Thomas Maal is an expert in applying the latest 3D technologies in healthcare. The new possibilities of this technology, such as patient-specific virtual operation schedules and 3D-printed anatomical models, ensure that the care and treatment plan can be tailored to the wishes and situation of the patient.
Maal started in 2005 with the application of 3D photography at Radboud university medical center and has been a staff member and coordinator of the 3D Lab since 2012. In 2013 he also became the coordinator of the 3D Lab at AMC Amsterdam. Thomas Maal (Rotterdam, 1981) received his Master of Biomedical Image Sciences at Utrecht University in 2006. In 2012 he obtained his Ph.D. – with honors - in the field of medical sciences at Radboud University.
